Author of many of the hits from the 2000's and the 2010's, as well as author of many of my all-time favorite songs, here comes a born, natural and talented hitmaker, who found success not only in singing, but also in songwriting — and Rihanna's Russian Roulette + Take a Bow and Beyoncé's Irreplaceable prove no wrong.
Ne-Yo - '2000's & 2010's R&B mixtape' poster design is the second in a series of posters I made as a tribute to some of my favorite singers and modern R&B's biggest exponents. It conjugates digital illustration, Japanese letters (know as katakana), graphic design and a vintage style.
This time, color-picking was easy: actually, this prototype was the first I made for the series of poster designs. Saturated blue was the color I wanted to work with the most. Also, the original font (Avenir Next) I used for Rihanna's 'R&B mixtape' poster design has worked well, especially with the katakana letters, so I had no trouble reproducing the same coordinates in this one.
