Here comes an award-winner singer, for whom I have the utmost admiration, who has a list of successful records so extensive her albums barely fit in the frame.
RIHANNA - '2000's & 2010's R&B mixtape' poster design is the first in a series of posters as a tribute to R&B's biggest exponents. It conjugates digital illustration, Japanese letters (known as katakana), graphic design and a vintage style.
Below, on the left side, we have the poster prototype (or simply the draft), which helped me picking the right colors (especially for the coat) and guiding the composition itself.
On the right side, we can see the solo illustration, prepared in an independent file. This is the way I work best, since it enables me to focus on a single object and then piece parts together, one by one, until I get the best suitable result.
And then, we have the final poster, already with adjustments on contrast, saturation, as well as with the vintage effect applied.
